austins "pride and prejudice", as she puts it, is thin on two inches of ivory carving, it is the masterpiece of austin. reflect the marriage problems of novel is a, the author works in the most is her favorite works.

works of vivid reflects the late 18th century to the early 19th century in a conservative and occlusion of the british town life and the world. its social graffiti like novels not only attract the readers at that time, solid to today, still give the reader a unique artistic enjoyment. she was the first to realistically portray ordinary grace novelist in daily ordinary life, plays an essential role in english novel.

the whole works, not least no winding ups and downs of the plot, but it is this simple, delicate and attracted us deeply. austin, short life is spent in the country, almost all around may be simple, halcyon atmosphere nurtured her cool temperament. not because there is no abundant experience, for the analysis of things for her ability to doubt.

people read the book pride and prejudice "will be fine for her, keen emotion. when writing "pride and prejudice", she is just a teenage girl, isnt this a gift? she does very little contact with the outside world, but thought, imagination, the existence of all this is enough.

today,i read the call of the wild, which can let people into the world of a dog.the dogs name is buck.it does not act as a good friend in human society, but as a wild and cruel soul role, which has benefited me a lot.

buck,a dog who lived in the judges house since childhood,is a hybrid of st.bernard and scottish shepherd.he inherited his parents weight, skeleton size and breed.he lived a carefree life until people found a yellow precious soft metal.

after being kidnapped and trafficked, buck, who has the flavor of nobility, was severely beaten for the first time in his life.after being beaten several times,he understood a truth: i cant win if i fight with a man with a stick.a stick is a key,a key that can awaken bucks primitive nature.let it understand the survival law of "the law of the jungle, the survival of the fittest".

buck began to go into the ice and snow and pull sleds for people.his companion parker taught him how to steal food to satisfy his hunger, because to eat,you must steal.learned to dig a hole to keep warm from berry.but what buck learned most was a silk haired dog, which made him recall the primitive killing of his ancestors.

the silk haired dog used to be the leader of his companions, but he challenged buck again and again to find fault.at first, buck was tolerant again and again, but finally, bucks instinct was activated by provocation again and on the bite, tear and bloody and crazy tiger wolf beating of his ancestors,he became active, knocked down the silk haired dog and took the place of the leader dog.

but once the wild was activated and awakened, the call in the forest seduced buck.it was a bleak, scary, creepy call, but buck howled happily together.the nature of primitive animals became stronger and stronger in him, which was reflected in a hunt.his endurance made buck taste his bloodthirsty desire and the pleasure of killing

competition in human society is the embodiment of ancient wildness, which brings the desire and barbarism of all things.like buck, the fact tells it that when there are only conquerors and conquered in the world, the unyielding fighting spirit from the depths of nature is awakened and let it know that this is the value of life.

but wildness is not only cruel,it also brings friendship, ancient civilization and crystallization.when bucks last owner died,he let out a long howl.this is loyalty, sad and shocking.

wild,it makes the world full of vitality and pushes the world into hell.it is cunning, loyal and savage, and brings friendship.this is the real life, colorful, brilliant and endless.the call of the wild comes from the depths of the secret heart.also let me understand the truth of "the law of the jungle, the survival of the fittest".

on sister carrie carrie was such an ordinary rural girl at the beginning of the story. sitting on the seat of a bus she couldn’t help feeling exciting at the sight of the metropolis’ spectacle. she was impressed deeply by large crowd on the avenue the spacious square or tall buildings. far more different from other heroines carrie was not a plain pure angel like snow-white nor was she brave enough to be a heroine of revolutionist or even a reformer nor was she so clever as to be a successful career woman who start from scratch.

what attracted her most after her entering this huge metropolis was the incredible fineries fashion shoes smart handbags displaying in the shop windows the jewellerys shining brightly behind the glass. she dreamed that one day she could wear all of these jogging gracefully into the most luxurious hotel with focused sights of admiration. and this was not merely a dream. because she had large eyes which can earn others’ sympathy even love. she had wonderful figure which can win others’ hearts. however anything she got anywhere she reached had not come from her ambition.

things happened and then she accepted. that’s what she had just done ? just to accept willingly from the bottom of her heart. she was not at all an evil woman who would give anything for the fortune or fame. however she would give uo something for a better life when her instinct defeated her intellect.

that was carrie a girl had her own desire a human being just like many others in the realistic world.there’s one sentence written in chapter viii:” when this jangle of free-will instinct shall have been adjusted when perfect understanding has given the former the power to replace the latter entirely man will no longer vary.” however how many people can go that further.

many people simply regard pride and prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. she perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. the characters have their own personalities. mrs. bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. mr. bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, mr. darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. even the five daughters in bennet family are very different. jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. mary likes reading classic books. (actually she is a pedant.) kitty doesnsquo;t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, lydia. lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. when i read the book, i can always find the same personalities in the society now. that is why i think this book is indeed the representative of the society in britain in the 18th century.

the family of gentleman in the countryside is jane austensquo;s favourite topic. but this little topic can reflect big problems. it concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in britain in her century. you can find these from the very beginning of this book.

the first sentence in this book is impressive. it reads: it is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife. the undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.

people always think that austen was an expert at telling love stories. in fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. after reading this book, i know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.

i couldnsquo;t forget how eager mrs. bennet wants to marry off her daughters. if you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, i must mention the situation in britain at that time. only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his fathersquo;s possessions. younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. jane austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century.

in pride and prejudice, the sister of mr. bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying jane because the bennets donsquo;t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. from this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. the society, the relatives would not allow them to get married.

in modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of money determines everything is still rooted in some peoplesquo;s mind. a lot of parents try hard to interfere their childrensquo;s marriages. education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence onesquo;s marriage. marry for money is still a big problem in our society. we cansquo;t help thinking: can money determine everything?

austen left this problem for us to think. the genius of jane austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. although austen was only 21 when she wrote pride and prejudice, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. the plots in her works are always very natural. the development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. i think the depth of pride and prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.

oliver twist is written by charles dickens.

charles dickens is one of the greatest writers in the england. he was born in a poor family, but later he became famous and rich. the famous novel --a tale of two cities is written by him, too.

this novel shows us the cruelty and crime of london. oliver twist, the hero, is a poor orphan. he lived in a life filled with taunts. nobody loved him. with visions of his future, he decided to go to london. he thought a new life was coming, but he was wrong, a group of thieves were waiting for him.

the author created a group of bad men.

fagin, an old man, with a horribly ugly face and red hair, was the head of those thieves. he tried to make oliver be a criminal.

bill sikes was a cruel and evil man in the group. he had a bad temper.

monks, oliver’s brother, did bad things to hurt oliver. he wanted to get the legacies left by his father alone. he paid fagin to trap oliver into a life of crime. in fact, they were all afraid of being put into prison and being hanged. they can’t live happily.

nancy, a poor girl, loved a bad man. she had to help bill sikes perpetrate, because she loved him. she had to be loyal to the criminal group, because she loved him. actually, she was kind. she helped oliver at the risk of her life. if she hadn’t fell in love with sikes, she would have a happy ending.

the author showed these ugly things to us, he described an ugly world. but there are more kind people in the novel.

mr. brownlow, an old friend of oliver’s father, took good care of oliver.

mrs. maylie, harry maylie’s mother, saved oliver of his life.

miss rose is the aunt of oliver, in fact.

they all protect oliver from hurt.

oliver was unlucky to meet so many evil people, but he was luckier to get help from so many kind people.

in the end of the novel, all the evil people were punished. oliver got what he should get. rose married harry maylie and they lived happily. all the kind people have a happy ending.

righteousness can always beat evil. i think this is what the author wants to tell. although there are many ugly things in the world, we must believe that righteousness can always beat evil.

we must store kindness even though we are in ugly situation. one is poor if he doesn’t have kindness. one is rich if he has kindness. so please store your kindness in your mind.

what’s more, the novel also tells us to be brave. oliver was brave enough to overcome all the problems he had met. no matter how difficult the problem is, we can’t give up, we must try our best to solve it.

from oliver twist , i have learnt a lot 。it’s really a good novel.

to regain the nature of goodness -- review of ‘oliver twist’ oliver twist one of the most famous works of charles dickens’ is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in britain in 18th century.

the author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in london. the hero of this novel was oliver twist an orphan who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. he suffered enormous pain such as hunger thirst beating and abuse. while reading the tragic experiences of the little oliver i was shocked by his sufferings. i felt for the poor boy but at the same time i detested the evil fagin and the brutal bill. to my relief as was written in all the best stories the goodness eventually conquered devil and oliver lived a happy life in the end. one of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft little oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of mrs. maylie and rose and began a new life. he went for walks with them or rose read to him and he worked hard at his lessons. he felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? the reason is the nature of goodness. i think it is the most important information implied in the novel by dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. although i don’t think goodness is omnipotent yet i do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded. for me the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. goodness is to humans what water is to fish. he who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person.

on the contrary as the famous saying goes ‘the fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’ he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. people receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.
