朱自清在回北京时，父亲来送他，火车还没有开走，父亲让他等等，去买几个橘子。朱自清靠窗坐着，看着父亲的背影，心里湿润了。然后，父亲抱着橘子回来了。过月台的时候，因为身子微胖，爬得很努力。父亲蹒跚地走了过来，把橘子放下，嘱咐朱自清好好照顾自己，然后慢慢地走了。他看见父亲远去的背影，流下了眼泪。
